It is Super Duper Quiet Today!

No economic releases; no Fedspeak (probably b/c they're getting ready for the annual soiree in Jackson Hole); nothing! Even baseball is getting into the act by scheduling only one--one!--matinee game. Usually there are a half-dozen on a Wednesday. Yawn!

The only "fun" thing going on today is August 19th happens to be Bill Clinton's birthday. Happy Birthday, Mr. Prez.

As for the markets, all signs are pointing lower after China had a -4% session. According to Reuters, investors are concerned the -20% slide in the past two weeks may continue. See the file for more.

Check back later, though. There's no way this day isn't going to be presented with some drama. :)

Until later,
