According to WOAI.com, Toyota is moving its Tacoma Truck production plant in Fremont, California to San Antonio, Texas. As many of you know, Toyota produces the Toyota Tundra in San Antonio, so it could explain why the company decided to move the Tacoma shop to South Texas.
This is huge news for both regions--1) California can hardly afford to lose, or forfeit, money from its tax rolls. This can't be good for Guv Schwarzenegger. 2) San Antonio is already booming. It's been one of the more enviable locations in the country that has seen a) job growth and 2) house appreciation. Adding this operation will no doubt add jobs and benefit the local economy. Now, all San Antonio needs is an NBA Championship from their beloved Spurs.
